Dr. Paige WenaasPaige A. Wenaas, DVM

Dr. Paige Wenaas knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since the day her Sheltie, Lady, was dropped off for surgery. She decided then and there that one day she would be the one who stayed with the animals instead of dropping them off. In high school, she was blessed to be mentored by Dr. Gary Brantley and Dr. Ann Heyman, further strengthening her desire to become a veterinarian. Forgoing Sooner family tradition, Dr. Wenaas headed to Texas A&M to study Biomedical Sciences en route to veterinary school. She completed veterinary school at Texas A&M in 1998 and received the Pharmacia & Upjohn Proficiency Award for high levels of achievement and interest in small animal medicine.

After eight great years in College Station, Dr. Wenaas and her husband, Christopher, moved to Frisco, Texas.    She was fortunate to start her veterinary career at two premier small animal clinics in the North Texas area. Since becoming a mother, she has primarily worked at the Emergency Animal Hospital of Collin County. She has enjoyed having the best of both worlds; being able to stay home with her children as well as continue in a profession she loves.    As her children near school age, Dr. Wenaas looks forward to returning to day practice at Custer McDermott Animal Hospital.
